CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

You’ve heard it before, “Content rules”.  And the saying is proved in real life, over and over.

Creating solid, interesting, relevant material that engages your prospects, supports your salespeople and differentiates your brand is a key part of a successful marketing strategy. And what’s even better, we can help you re-purpose that content across media channels, editing and customizing the original piece so it can be transformed into:

  • • a quick handout
  • • a series of blogs
  • • a grabbing post for your FaceBook page
  • • a video script for your website
  • • customer training sheets

Your content will bloom, multiply and take root in the hands of our expert developers. And you can be sure that nothing is ever going to be wasted. Your time and your customers’ time are valuable, so when we’re in front of them we squeeze as much information, opinions, tips and facts as possible.

Following are brief intros and links to content development examples.

Inside Out interviewed owners, operators and users of construction equipment and construction technology to develop articles that highlight how they faced and conquered challenges, supported by Milton CAT, the Northeast and upstate New York CAT dealer, and by SITECH Northeast, Trimble’s distributor in that same territory. These are some of our favorites:

Spoiler alert! When people find out the pernicious side effect of the innocent-looking “seam” in the middle of the roads they drive on every day, they worry. And when they find out that the seam can now be avoided, they want that technology to be adopted by their local and regional highway departments.

We’ve all seen them – glorious accounts of a company’s new location, rebuilt facilities, modernized headquarters. But…why should the reader care? That’s the question we keep in mind as we write that type of release.

A “feel good” story with the right components – decent people carrying on with their everyday life are hit by a major disaster; put aside everything, including their egos, and come together to overcome it; get the needed support; make an astonishing recovery; go back to life-as-usual.

AC Tech, now part of Lenze Americas, developed and manufactured motion control products employed in many interesting and innovative applications. As their pr and advertising agency, it was part of their job for the Inside Out Communications’ team to learn about the industry, interview AC Tech’s customers, ghost-write and place case studies. The following are some examples showing the wide range we researched and wrote about.

The ProBatter® pitching machines combined a state-of-the art, computer-controlled baseball-pitching machine with cutting edge video technology, allowing a batter to practice under game-like conditions. The right motor inverter was crucial in order to achieve great simulation, and ProBatter Sports engineers chose the SCF Series.

SwimEx is a swimming treadmill used at locations ranging from the NFL, NBA, NHL, and Major League Baseball teams, to colleges, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and gyms. Although AC Tech’s strength was off-the-shelf drives, their in-house engineering capabilities allowed them to offer SwimEx special software, customer-specified air switches and a serial communications port.
Driving Customized Challenge

Washing Equipment Technologies is a developer and manufacturer of self-serve, touch-free car wash equipment systems. I-Wash, a coin-operated car wash equipment, was a patent-pending system that met with great success. A variable frequency drive of the right size, offering the right performance, and at the right cost, was a crucial step in the development of the system, and the company chose the SCF Series from AC Tech. EPM programmability and worldwide service and support were definite factors in the decision-making process.
Why We Use VFDs

A University of Maryland study examined the feasibility of introducing to the Chesapeake Bay area an Asian species of oysters, to counteract the dramatic decline in the native oyster population. Important considerations for the success of the study were the reliable performance of the laboratory tank pumps, cooling towers and overall HVAC systems. In addition, water temperature had to be kept within pre-determined parameters, and filtration pumps needed to function without fail. Besides efficiency and dependability, cost-effectiveness was also a concern. The University of Maryland chose AC Technology’s MCH Series Variable Frequency Drives to control their pumps and cooling towers and their building HVAC system.

STRETCHING CONTENT APPLICATION

The following are examples of re-purposing an original piece to fit different channels.

Several articles developed for Lenze Americas’ company, AC Tech, were later edited to become handouts for their sales team. The series, called “IN FOCUS”, was always formatted in the same way, and offered a quick overlook of how a customer overcame a particular challenge using a specific product.

In the case of Milton CAT, information gathered from experts across the company when we were creating new product or service brochures was later edited, combined and used as material in “FOR THE TRENCHES”, a set of sheets with useful tips for operators of heavy equipment.

A similar situation occurred when we re-structured information from the Power Systems group of the Milton CAT company to generate stand-alone sheets with quick advice for users.
