Annual reports with perennial appeal

Industry: Non-profit

At Inside Out Communications, we believe that an annual report is an excellent opportunity to remind the community, your stakeholders and your own organization what your reason for being is; what your vision and your mission are.

In other words, if you have to do it, do it really, really, well. Do it so it makes your staff proud; so it differentiates your company, firmly stakes your position and reinforces your brand.

For the past five years, Inside Out Communications has handled the MetroWest Community Health Care Foundation’s annual reports, developing concepts, proposing different looks, researching, and interviewing grant recipients, staff and board members… in the process we meet a number of extraordinary people who do amazing things.
This year the Foundation decided to focus their annual report on one of their key initiatives–addressing teen drug and alcohol abuse in the Boston MetroWest region. The facts are not pretty. Without using scare tactics, the Foundation still wants to be very straightforward about a matter that concerns us all.
A caring community hospital; a respected teaching institution; a center staffed by top-notch professionals and equipped with the most sophisticates scientific instrumentation and committed to advanced research…the Mount Auburn Hospital is all of that, and more! Working with them to make sure their annual report conveys their vision and communicates their message is a challenging and wonderful task.
Vibrant and soft; down–to-earth and super advanced; close-ups of real people and close looks at advanced instrumentation; careful use of typography and joyous use of colors.
