Differentiate
Asking people for money is tricky. It’s also very rewarding when you’re doing it for a cause you believe in. We think it works well when you start by establishing a connection so your audience understands that there is a reason why he or she is being asked for support. And no matter whether they actually give money or not, the aftertaste is crucial. You don’t want anyone to feel guilty, cheap or uncaring. Always, always, leave the door open. People can change.
